- “Tear It Up” is the first and only retail single released by Andrew W.K. for his album The Wolf.
- The single was released 2 months prior to the album, and contains two tracks that went on to be on the album.
- No video was made for “Tear It Up”, but a video was made for “Your Rules” using live footage from “Furnace Fest ’02″. The single also came with a bonus DVD.
- The song was featured in the EA Sports video game NASCAR Thunder 2004.
